It features the work of 170 contributors from North and South America, Europe and the former Soviet Union. The magazine was founded in 1975 by John M. Bennett and Douglas C. Landies and has been edited by Bennett since Landies’ death in 1978.

Bennett writes in his introduction, “I enjoyed reading and publishing unusual work, work that at the time no one else seemed to be publishing.”
